Effect of Annealing Period and Temperature on the Optical and Structural Properties of CdS Thin Films

In this work, a thin films of CdS have been prepared using a locally modified chemical vapor system, the layers were examined before and after annealing using Scanning electron microscope and X-ray spectrum to investigate the layers surface topology and growth orientation, also the variation in the layers optical properties have been measured to indicate the effect of annealing at different periods and different temperatures, the absorption coefficient or in other words the energy gap of the layers were clearly affected and varied with annealing temperature and period.
