ABSTRACT: In power production using low heat using Scroll expanders, the draw backs include losses, sealing and lubrication. Design optimization is to be considered and a proper aspect ratio is to be determined such that the losses will be min-imum and isentropic efficiency will be increased. In this present work, a detailed review of scroll machines is taken up to identify a suitable method for attaining improved efficiency with reduced losses. Aspect ratio which is ideal for minimum losses and high isentropic condition is also reviewed.
